The BioClear Certified™ standard certifies the deep cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces and soft goods are done by adequately trained staff or an outside approved company, not just a property making unsubstantial claims. To achieve a BioClear Certification™ a company must complete the four steps outlined below:

Step 1

Qualified Expertise

Employ an approved deep cleaning company which must have all necessary licenses and certified hands on third-party accredited training or have internal staff certified by a third-party accredited institution on how to properly disinfect a guest room or public space.

Step 2

Proper Disinfection

Incorporating an approved continuous deep cleaning and disinfection process. BioClear Certified™ mandates that a deep cleaning and disinfection process encompasses that all areas, not just hard surface and items, within a guest room or public space are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, sanitized and any potential cross-contamination is eliminated. This full deep cleaning and disinfection process must be done at minimum bi-annually with a 90-day antimicrobial barrier on all high touch points, applied quarterly.

Step 3

Environmentally Friendly cleaners & appropriate EPA Registered Disinfectants

The next requirement is that 95% of cleaning solutions used either are Green Seal or EPA Design for the Environment. Additionally, the EPA registered Hospital Grade Disinfectant used for disinfection must be one that is part of the Emerging Viral Pathogen Claim for SARS-CoV-2. This Hospital Grade Disinfectant must be non-corrosive, non-toxic and free of volatile organic compounds.

Step 4

Documentation

All steps in deep cleaning and disinfecting must be documented and recorded step by step via a third-party software system and can at any time be audited to ensure compliance via computer or in person.

The BioClear Certified™ rooms will have a marketing and sales communication strategy to provide to any commercial property to ensure future leisure and group guests know these rooms are cleaned at the highest level, but also to train hotel staff on the benefits/Q&A on the subject. Also, protocols must be in place if any guest falls ill during their stay including documentation and implementation of a certified decontamination process with an approved service company.

BioClear Certified™ resorts are not only creating a better product but are protecting both their guests and employees.
